ACE-031 is a synthetic version of the myostatin inhibitor ACVR2B.

It was originally engineered for the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). ACE-031 acts as a transmembrane protein receptor that binds myostatin, blocking muscle growth-limiting signals. This way, ACE-031 substantially supports the development and maintenance of lean muscle mass.

It is generally well-tolerated as observed in phase 1 clinical trials. So far, research has shown that the potential benefits of ACE-031 are diminished symptoms of neuromuscular diseases, rapid lean mass development, muscle wasting prevention, and reduction of excess body fat.
