Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancers. Compared to Tamoxifen, Letrozole has shown to be more effective as adjuvant treatment for breast cancer.

Tamoxifen, like Letrozole, is used to treat hormonally-responsive malignant breast growth but with interactions with estrogen receptor.

Letrozole is contraindicated in women who are post-menopausal, pregnant, and lactating.
